A majority of the Operators on the Norwegian continental shelf have joined forces to establish CoOper8 AS, a new company that will deliver and manage shared digital solutions for the energy industry. The company will deliver and manage services for digital collaboration across actors and systems in the energy industry, which will contribute to increased standardisation, efficiency, productivity, and value creation in the industry.

Responding to a growing need for shared digital solutions.

The energy industry is developing rapidly, with many stakeholders, increasing volumes of data, and more complex work processes. At the same time, the Norwegian continental shelf is maturing, bringing changes to how we operate. CoOper8 is established to address these common challenges and enable more integrated and efficient digital ways of working across the industry.

Continuing established industry collaboration

CoOper8 will take over, continue, and further develop services currently managed through industry collaboration coordinated by Offshore Norge. This includes:

  • Material Management services such as EqHub and Virtual Inventory
  • Project Control Management services such as Integrated Lifecycle Asset Planning

Bringing these services together in a single company owned by the industry itself ensures more predictable development and a stronger long-term foundation. Offshore Norge supports the establishment and sees the company as an important partner, also in developing new digital solutions that meet shared needs in the offshore and energy sectors.

Åshild Hanne Larsen from Equinor has been appointed CEO. She brings solid experience from the energy industry and an extensive background in IT and digitalisation.
